Can you write about other stuff besides homelessness? I was recently asked this and once again I knew it was somebody else’s expression of being uncomfortable with the subject. My answer to this question is: Of course I can but what other subject is so pertinent right now? I could care less who was at …

My seven year old is a thinker. Recently she was lying down in the top bunk of the beds at my friends house and staring up at the ceiling, wondering about things from her point of view. “Mom”, she said, “What’s a tentacle?” “Tentacle? You mean like the arm of an octopus or squid?” I …

With so many people out there who need help, I wonder about things. I wonder how hard it would be to find good Samaritans in every community that would be interested in helping out people who just need a little help to make things easier to get by. I’d call it “Little things mean a …

Caly is sick. She’s had a fever for two days now and suspects that the catheter in her chest is infected. This is the second time this has happened. She has symptoms like the flu but I can’t help but wonder if being on dialysis has weakened her immune system. Wednesday she has to go …

Feeling stressed as I completely forgot about filling out financial aid forms for school. I stayed up late to fill them out but what if I get denied? I will have to immediately repay the loan in the amount of $88.00 a month which I just can’t afford to do right now. Once I get …
